gamescom 2026 Ticket Sales Begin After Another Record Early-Bird Phase
The road to Cologne officially starts now. gamescom has launched ticket sales for its 2026 edition, and the organizers are opening the shop on the back of a new record: exhibitor registrations at the end of the early-bird period are up 15 percent compared to last year, the third early-bird record in a row. Fans can now grab tickets for gamescom (August 26 to 30), the gamescom dev conference (August 24 and 25), and the gamescom congress (August 27), while trade visitors get a brand-new Business Ticket system. Here is what you need to know before checkout.
Exhibitors keep breaking records
Before getting to the tickets themselves, the exhibitor numbers deserve a mention because they set the tone for the whole year. A 15 percent year-over-year increase in registered exhibitors at this stage is remarkable for an event that was already the biggest of its kind on the planet, and numerous national pavilions are confirmed as well. game managing director Felix Falk is already calling gamescom the absolute highlight of the international gaming year, while Koelnmesse COO Oliver Frese pointed to the third consecutive early-bird record as proof of the event's pull.
A subtle but meaningful structural change accompanies the announcement: the gamescom dev conference now officially kicks off the gamescom week on August 24 and 25, tying the developer community more closely into the main event than ever before.
The fan tickets
For regular visitors, the lineup mirrors last year's structure. Available now through the official shop at tickets.gamescom.global are day tickets, evening tickets valid from 4 p.m., family tickets, and the Wildcard, which grants access to the entertainment area from 1 p.m. on the trade visitor and media day (August 26). The Green Ticket returns for everyone who wants to add a contribution to climate protection projects, and the Superfan Bundles, including admission to gamescom Opening Night Live, are back as well.
Two practical warnings from the organizers worth repeating: tickets for Opening Night Live itself go on sale at a later date, and there will be no box office at the venue. Buy online, and only from the official shop, unauthorized resale platforms are a recurring source of invalid tickets every year.
New: Business Tickets for trade visitors
The bigger news concerns trade visitors. gamescom 2026 introduces a dedicated Business Ticket category that bundles show access with gamescom dev in flexible packages. The top option, gamescom Business 5 Days, covers the entire business week including the developer conference and show access from Wednesday to Friday. Business 3 Days and Business 1 Day variants cover the show floor portion only.
All Business Tickets include the business area, the entertainment area, and access to gamescom biz, the official online B2B platform. One catch: trade visitor verification is required and can take up to 48 hours, so anyone planning a business trip to Cologne should register sooner rather than later. Early-bird pricing runs through March 31.
Our take
Ticket launches are routine news, but the pattern around this one is not. Three consecutive exhibitor records, a restructured business week with gamescom dev at the front, and a ticket shop opening five months early all point in the same direction: gamescom 2026 is planning for its biggest year yet. If the past editions are any guide, the popular ticket categories, especially Saturday day tickets and the Superfan Bundles, will not stay available forever.
