WoW: Forever Beta Stats Tracker Reveals How Often You Jumped
Published today · view counts update daily
The World of Warcraft: Forever beta has closed, and Blizzard has released a fun little stats tracker for anyone who took part. Signing in shows a breakdown of your time in the beta, including hours played, where you spent the most time, which enemy killed you most often and how many times you jumped. The full game launches on November 4.
What the tracker shows
The page pulls together a personal summary of your beta run. Beyond the headline numbers, it also places you in a percentile ranking against other testers based on playtime.
One player's results give a sense of the scale. Over 57 hours of beta play, which landed in the 69th percentile, the tracker counted 7,738 jumps. That works out to roughly 135 jumps per hour, well above what the player expected.
Jumping has long been a staple of MMO social etiquette. Even in a game with a /wave emote, hopping around another character to acknowledge them is a faster way to say hello. Plenty of players also swear it makes you run faster, though that claim does not hold up.
Deaths and favorite zones
The tracker's death tally also turned up a clear culprit in that same run: the Silithid Swarmer in the southern Barrens. The minions it summons carry an unusually large amount of health, which made the encounter feel overtuned.
The Barrens also topped the list for time spent. Anyone familiar with the chaos of Barrens Chat will understand why that is a fitting, if slightly painful, result.
What comes next
Beta progress will not carry over, so the tracker works as a keepsake until launch on November 4. Day one is likely to bring the same crowding seen in the beta, with players competing over quest objectives such as a single cactus apple. Questions remain about how the endgame will shape out, and a slower pace at the start may be welcome while that settles.
If you took part in the beta, the tracker is worth a look for the jump count alone. It is a quick way to see how your own habits stack up before the full release.
