PS Plus October 2026: Hunt Showdown 1896, F1 25 and Earth Defense Force
Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus monthly games for October 2026: Hunt: Showdown 1896, F1 25 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. All three become available to subscribers from 6th October, and September's games stay claimable until 5th October.
Sony revealed the lineup on the PlayStation Blog, and the headliner is clear.
Hunt: Showdown 1896
Crytek's tense, atmospheric extraction shooter mixes co-operative and competitive play. It earned a Recommended badge in a 2021 review on PC, back when a different scoring system was in use. Console versions only arrived in late 2024, and a 2.0 overhaul followed last summer, so the version landing on PS Plus is a current one.
Reviewer Edwin captured the appeal in his write-up: "If Hunt: Showdown's unusual - and, as it turns out, fantastically exhilarating and engrossing - mixture of inspirations has a single guiding principle, it's that predators become prey." He went on to describe a game "in which stepping on a twig while chasing a zombie can get you shot from a hundred yards off, and the time-honoured ceremony of a bossfight offers zero defence against the player lobbing dynamite through a window."
F1 25
The second game is the racing sim F1 25. It rounds out the month for anyone who wants something with a steering wheel rather than a shotgun.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2
The third is Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2, a voxel-styled EDF spin-off with split-screen co-op. It looks suited to a casual afternoon with a friend on the couch rather than a long campaign grind.
Last chance for September's games
The October additions go live on 6th October, so you have until 5th October to add September's lineup to your library. Anything claimed in time stays available as long as your subscription remains active.
