gamescom latam 2025 Grows 30 Percent With 130,000 Visitors in São Paulo
gamescom latam has passed its second test with flying colors. The Latin American edition of the world's biggest games event closed its 2025 edition with 130,000 visitors at the Anhembi District in São Paulo, a 30 percent jump over its premiere year. Held from April 30 to May 4, the show drew more than 40 publishers, over 240 brands, and more than 3,000 industry professionals, alongside a launch slate of more than 120 games. The message from Brazil is unmistakable: this event is here to stay.
From promising debut to established fixture
Second editions are where new events prove themselves, and the numbers here leave little room for doubt. More than 90 booths filled the show floor, with publishers including Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Devolver Digital, Epic Games, ID@Xbox, Konami, NetEase, Niantic, Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Roblox, SEGA, Supercell, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros. Games all present.
CEO Gustavo Steinberg said the results came in above expectations and made a point that matters beyond Brazil: the records show international companies that the Latin American market is consolidated, competitive, and full of high-quality professionals. His claim that gamescom latam has established itself as the place for publishers to launch games in the region is backed by those 120+ launches, including news around Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2, Double Dragon Revive, FragPunk, Garena Delta Force, and Solasta II.
Star power on the content stages
The program pulled genuine industry heavyweights to São Paulo. Among more than 200 hours of content, attendees heard from Tetris Company co-founder Henk Rogers, former PlayStation indies champion Shuhei Yoshida, Compulsion Games founder Guillaume Provost, Microsoft's Chris Charla, and Pokémon senior director Michael Steranka, plus regional icons like skateboarding legend Bob Burnquist.
The digital reach is worth noting too: over 10 million people followed gamescom latam through its own online platforms, with broadcasts ranging from FGS Live From gamescom latam to industry panels, and more than 300 media outlets attended in person.
Why Brazil keeps mattering more
Latin America has long been described as gaming's sleeping giant, an enormous, passionate player base underserved by the industry's event calendar. gamescom latam is the most serious attempt yet to change that, and a 30 percent growth rate in year two suggests the appetite is every bit as large as advertised.
For the gamescom family, São Paulo now sits alongside Cologne and the upcoming gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show in Bangkok as proof that the brand travels. Next stop: gamescom 2025 in Cologne, August 20 to 24. And if the latam trajectory continues, expect the 2026 edition in Brazil to break records again.
